Telehouse North Power Issue

We can confirm that BT have advised the following with regard to the Telehouse North power issue:

‘The wider power restoration activities on site have completed and the team have checked that power is balanced correctly across our equipment. Internet peering is stable and is being monitored closely.’

Telehouse North Power Outage

Dear Customer,

We are aware of a power outage involving equipment at Telehouse North this morning that is affecting many Internet Service Providers (ISPs), including BT.

We do not have any equipment of our own at Telehouse North, however as many ISPs do possess equipment at this location call quality and connectivity may be affected accordingly.

Engineers are currently working to resolve this issue, however until such time as power is restored customers may continue to experience call quality and connectivity problems. 

We will endeavour to assist as much as possible and our Support Team is fully aware of the issue. However, we recommend that customers contact their ISP for any further updates as engineers from BT and Telehouse are working on the issue at this present time, therefore your ISP will be able to provide precise updates.

BT (UK) Nationwide Outage - Update

Dear Customer,

Further to our previous e-mail this morning, BT have confirmed that their recent outage has been 'resolved and services restored'.

Therefore, any issues that UK Customers have experienced this morning when connecting to Orbtalk using BT connectivity in the UK (including call quality issues) should now be resolved. In the event that issues are still occurring, please reboot equipment on the BT line such as Firewalls or Routers and retest. Thank you.

BT Nationwide Outage

Dear Customer,

BT are currently experiencing a nationwide outage that is impacting some Orbtalk customers.

The BT outage has been caused by an issue with their routing of IPs. As a result, any Internet traffic that uses BT's IP network at any point is liable to be affected.

As approximately 90% of broadband customers in the UK use BT's network (either directly or by their ISP using BT's network), we understand that many of our customers may be affected by this outage, including by experiencing call quality issues.

We advise affected customers to please check BT's website and the BT Care Twitter page at regular intervals to keep abreast of events.

BT Broadband and Phone Issues

We are aware of a major issue affecting BT's telephone and broadband network nationwide and we have re-routed all traffic away from BT.
